NEW BEGINNINGS
Your generous donation and those of others through the years have had a tremendous positive influence on the teaching environment in the Berthoud Schools! As a direct result of the funds raised through the Berthoud Bash we were able to make the Berthoud Schools “technology ready”! All of our schools were rated by the district in the top 10 of all the schools in the district with Turner Middle School and Berthoud High School being #1 and #2, respectively!
With the passage of the mill levy last year – Thompson School District now has the funds to begin implementation of a district-wide technology plan.
This means that the Berthoud Schools Fund is able to step away from making core technology classroom related investments and we are excited to focus on supporting all facets of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) in our Berthoud Schools!
For example, the school principals have requested funding to provide these other types of resources. Major categories include the following:
- Curriculum based experiential learning; STEAM inside and outside the classroom
- Instructional software and software licenses
- Professional development for teachers
- Robotics
- Flexible seating
- Outdoor instructional space
